PRIVATE FAMILY: Full Time Travel / Family Assistant for private Eastside family. See details.

FT EXPLORER NANNY NEEDED FOR OUTDOOR SCIENTISTS IN LAKE FOREST PARK
WHO YOU’LL CARE FOR: A 5 year old who has studied the arts of superhero ninjitsu and is an expert at jumping off of things. And then rescuing EVERYONE. The baby (14 months) will hide your socks. And then giggle about it.
OUR CHILDREN ARE: We love music and regularly have it playing during the day. I sing all the time and sometimes play guitar. We read a lot of poetry with our son. He loves the rhyming cadences and fun word play. He’s taking zoom reading classes from a family member. If Kindergarten through the district is mostly on the computer all day we plan to home school him. We don’t expect the nanny to be a primary teacher, but possibly to support activities we initiate. An experienced teacher is just a plus.
START DATE: ASAP!
WE’RE LOOKING FOR: There are definitely rules and boundaries, but there’s also a lot of room for give and take based on how people are feeling and what needs are biggest that day. We try to use compromise a lot rather than black and white rules. We want someone who can balance the warmth and playfulness with holding firm boundaries when the kids are pushing too far. Before Covid they were in a Montessori daycare and that was a great alignment with our philosophies. We’re being very careful about COVID and expect that of anyone we would hire. Caring for the kids is first, but other child-focused cleaning is definitely welcome if there’s time. Mostly I want our son to learn basic living skills (things he already has a basic facility with, but to practice) like dishes, sweeping, etc. Ways of engaging him in small tasks to teach independence, much like Montessori philosophy.
OUR NANNY WILL BE: Someone who keeps them safe but still lets them play hard. Playful and silly. Someone who helps encourages their curiosity and facilitates learning. Good communication with us and the kids. We would love someone who is always up for an adventure! He or she will love word play, singing, and being silly.
OUR HOUSEHOLD IS: 4 people who love to sing and dance and surround ourselves in nature. We talk about science at the dinner table and make up the words to songs as we go. We bought a house with 31 rhododendrons, 7 fruit trees, deer, bunnies, and lots of moles. I tell the kids that they should be nice to the animals because they live here too. The house is a little bit messy but well lived in and full of energy.
OUR FAMILY IS: Currently both parents are home almost every day. I hope to continue because I love being near the kids. Mom occasionally has a snack with them. We almost always have lunch with the whole family and nanny together. I also like being able to pop in and give the kids hugs or hear what exciting stuff they’re up to. They both separate very well so this isn’t causing distress so far.
FAMILY THEME SONG: Thriftshop (by Macklemore, censored version of course)
OUR CHILDCARE GOALS: We’re trying to grow little people who are capable of taking care of themselves, understanding their feelings, and kind to the world. We empower the kids to learn mastery of age-appropriate tasks. We try to help them name and process their feelings. And we always want to teach them to be good citizens who care for the Earth and other people.
RATE: $28-30
SCHEDULE: 40-45 hours guaranteed, typically M-F 8-4, but that may change slightly if both parties agree.
BENEFITS: No driving required, Family Vehicle Provided, Guaranteed Hours, Sick Pay, Paid Federal Holidays, Healthcare Stipend Negotiable for Right Fit.
REQUIREMENTS: Professional Nanny experience, CPR/FA certs, pristine background, driver’s license and clean driving record, 3 glowing childcare references, 21+ years old, no accompanying children.
APPLY HERE: Include “Lake Forest Park” in the subject line.

FT TUTOR/NANNY NEEDED IN MEADOWBROOK FOR EASY GOING TWEENS/TEEN
WHO YOU’LL CARE FOR: Our soon to be 15-year-old (now a mini-adult) and our soon to be 12-year-old identical twin boys (you’ll quickly be able to tell them apart don’t worry). They’re great kids but need help getting their schoolwork and chores done.
OUR CHILDREN ARE: Our children all love soccer and participate whenever possible. All the kids love movies and Broadway musicals (lately Hamilton). Finally the kids are very big fans of our two Boston Terriers.
START DATE: 9/1, flexible for the right fit.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Great educational tutor, safe given our current virus environment, relaxed, low-key, tidy, fun, humorous, punctual, flexible, willing to do activities outside of the school environment like transport to activities. Have a safe car and be a good and responsible driver. A person who wants to be productive while low-key and fun would be ideal. We’d probably like it if they could help encourage the boys to get their own lunch, possibly monitoring to make sure it isn’t, for example, all Cheetos. Our daughter gets her own lunch entirely, but needs to be held accountable for cleanup. There could be some occasional dishes, but a very small amount – our preference would be to encourage the kids to do their own dishes, and hold them accountable. This job is child focused.
OUR TUTOR WILL BE: Since the kids are in the older range, we are really looking for a caregiving style that might be described as part-teacher/tutor and part-caregiver. A good portion of the day will be spent on ensuring success in their school assignments, with an emphasis on accountability to attending classes on time, understanding and tracking homework that needs to be completed, organizational skills, and academic tutoring and enrichment to make up the challenging remote learning model that we are facing into for the 2020-21 school year. Other parts of the day will be traditional caregiving, including helping with lunch and activities. It would also be very desirable to have help ensuring the kids get physical activities during the school day, and after school on occasion.
OUR HOUSEHOLD IS: Our preference would be for minimal involvement, staying hands off much of the day. Our tutor/nanny is the professional during their time in the house. Both parents are working from home and are available to be interrupted for questions though, but would prefer to give our nanny autonomy in running the day. Rest assured that any interruptions can easily be accommodated – that wouldn’t be a problem at all.
OUR FAMILY IS: Low-key, funny, chatty, on-task usually when we’re supposed to be, spontaneous when we can afford to be. Our family doesn’t have many relatives in the area, and none that can help us with childcare, so we are going to value your services *very* highly.
FAMILY THEME SONG: What Comes Next? (the Hamilton ditty sung by the King George character). Why? The kids would like to form their own independent government sometimes, but we need to keep some reigns on them until they’re 18!
RATE: $30-32 DOE
PETS: We have two Boston Terriers, they add some levity to the day, and also provide opportunities for dog walking as an activity for the kids .

OUR CHILDREN ARE: Teaching will be for our 6 and 7 year old who will be in kindergarten and first grade. We hope to add some friends in the same age range with educator’s approval and an hourly raise.

FAMILY THEME SONG: Morning is the “circle of life” from lion king. Meal time is “Sit down you are rocking the boat”. Girls’ theme song these days is “Roar” from Katy Perry. The boys’ theme song is “March of the Resistance” from Star Wars. I think this tells you everything you need to know about us.
OUR CHILDCARE GOALS: Foster a learning environment that is supportive of the kids social/emotional and academic strengths. We encourage the teacher to differentiate instruction as they see fit. The ideal teacher will meet the kids where they are at, help them meet benchmarks, and ensure our kids reach their potential.

She’s a smiley, happy kiddo who loves to cuddle, rarely cries, has never needed any help putting herself to sleep for naps or at bedtime. Our toddler son is in daycare full time. Should daycares close, nanny will be in charge of both children for a raised hourly rate.
OUR CHILDREN ARE: Our daughter is a smiley, happy baby who loves interacting with us. She enjoys “having a conversation” and likes it when we sing songs or play with toys or books. Experience with infants is preferred but NOT a hard requirement. Our daughter is such a miraculously easy baby that we feel a capable nanny could quickly learn the ropes. Both parents are working from home for the foreseeable future, and are already experienced at this, so we can easily teach the nanny how we would like the baby to be cared for.
OUR HOUSEHOLD IS: A safe place for curious little ones to engage in open-ended play-based learning, where cardboard boxes can become anything with a bit of imagination and sometimes a lot of tape. Our family is always growing, most recently with the addition of Robutt, the cardboard robot with fully functional “end-to-end” digestive system of paper towel tubes.:

OUR CHILDCARE GOALS: First, to keep our daughter safe and healthy. Second, to enrich her life with enough structure and support to foster positive habits and encourage learning and growth, without limiting her imagination. We want her to grow into a happy, healthy human who is excited about the world, pleased to be around the people in it, and pleasant to be around herself.
RATE: $27-29, with a $2 increase when/if our son is included.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours guaranteed, Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
BENEFITS: Guaranteed Hours, Sick Pay, Paid Federal Holidays, 2+ weeks PTO, Healthcare Stipend.
REQUIREMENTS: Professional Nanny experience, CPR/FA certs, pristine background, driver’s license and clean driving record, 3 glowing childcare references, 21+ years old, no accompanying children.

FT FAMILY ASSISTANT/TUTOR NEEDED IN ISSAQUAH FOR EASY GOING KIDDOS!
WHO YOU’LL CARE FOR: Two fun-loving, thoughtful, caring, and enthusiastic kids: a 4-year-old girl and a nearly-6-year-old boy, who love to play and love to learn! Our almost-6-year-old boy loves to read books, loves math and puzzles, and loves riding his bike (he’ll happily show off how he can change gears). Our 4-year-old girl loves listening to an adult read books, observing animals, taking care of her dolls and stuffed animals, and riding her scooter. Both kids love interactive projects, being outdoors, exploring, learning, building with blocks/Legos/Magnatiles, playing board games, and playing hide-and-seek. And they love each other!
START DATE: As soon as possible. We will pay for a 2 week quarantine period if the nanny is in between jobs.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Loving, supportive, positive, encouraging; yet firm and clear on boundaries. We prefer that our nanny uses very little phone time or screen time on the job. We would love a nanny who can help the kids talk through their emotions, and can help them understand when things don’t go their way. We also would love a nanny who is strictly social distancing.
OUR NANNY WILL BE: We are anticipating homeschooling our son for kindergarten. In our ideal world, we would find a part-nanny, part-educator: someone who could meet both kids’ academic levels, introduce learning activities, provide homeschool education (he will enter kindergarten but is at more of a first grade academic level), make learning fun and playful, and in between, play with the kids, help keep the common areas tidy and organized. Only if time permits, we would welcome more help such as help with meal-prep, but this is optional and not required. Childcare and homeschooling are our top priorities. Given COVID circumstances, we are flexible on work arrangements and willing to consider a broad range of contribution, so long as we find someone who is strict about social distancing and able to support homeschooling in the fall.
OUR HOUSEHOLD IS: Full of love. Our house is open and bright, and large windows overlook a beautiful greenbelt (with many trails where the kids have spotted deer, bunnies, tadpoles, and more). During COVID, both parents are working from home offices. We envision taking the kids on 1-2 hour outings (walks, bike rides, trips to our community garden to take care of our plants) during the week, which could create some space for our nanny to help with tidying up, meal prep, etc.
OUR FAMILY IS: Loving and kind. We talk with the kids regularly about being good people, taking care of each other, and taking care of our environment. Our family enjoys the outdoors and being active. We also enjoy experimenting with vegetarian/vegan recipes using farm-fresh ingredients; and the kids love visiting our community garden plot to take care of our vegetables. We truly value time together as a family; we also highly value learning and education. Both parents have demanding professional lives, and with kids and parents home since March, it has been difficult to keep up with everything!
FAMILY THEME SONG: This was the hardest question for us to answer! You can help us pick one, once you get to know us!
OUR CHILDCARE GOALS: To provide a safe, happy, positive, and stimulating environment that nurtures our kids. To establish a home learning environment where our kids can be homeschooled in the fall (both are enrolled in schools, but we do not expect we’ll be ready to stop social distancing).
RATE: $27+ DOE
SCHEDULE: During COVID: 40 hours a week, 8 hours a day flexible on scheduling. After COVID: 40 hours a week with a set schedule to be determined by nanny and family.

REQUIREMENTS: Professional Nanny experience, CPR/FA certs, pristine background, driver’s license and clean driving record, 3 glowing childcare references, 21+ years old, no accompanying children.

We want someone who is passionate and committed, confident and a learner, and will focus on fun ways to foster the same in our kids – through engagement, structure, warmth, creativity, and a can-do/take-control attitude. We value partnering with the nanny, and respecting their boundaries and approach when they are with the kids. We expect the nanny to be open and collaborative with parents so that we can all be consistent. Being outdoors and active everyday -rain or shine- is important to us. We are looking for someone who can build a connection with our kids, display warmth and trust, and structure fun and age-appropriate activities and schedules. We tend to keep a consistent schedule and would like a caregiver who aims for the same, although we do appreciate the need to be flexible on any given day. Large garden in front and back with plenty of space to play, and lots of potential to explore and adventure! The inside of our home is open and bright; we’re always tinkering on woodworking projects and art with the kids. Dad is an essential worker (doctor) and Mom works from home (until further notice) when not on maternity leave. Our home office is on a separate floor with plenty of space for everyone.
OUR FAMILY IS: Laid-back and playful, enjoys the outdoors and being active, family-focused and warm. Parents both have busy professional lives but enjoy spending as much time as possible with kids and at home. Enjoy relaxing in our backyard, playing hide-and-seek, gardening or designing a new obstacle course or fort (inside or outside). Our family is deeply connected, highly communicative, and intentional about fostering positive relationships with each other and our community. We believe strongly in giving back and both parents’ careers are in the public interest.

He has an indefatigable drive to climb and explore. Music, singing and dancing both rev him up (like when we play Taylor Swift!) or sooth him (lullabies at bedtime). He’s very sweet and pretty easy as far as babies go and we’re looking forward to finding him a suitable caretaker and playmate.
OUR CHILDREN ARE: Dad’s two older children live with us 50% of the time, they are 12 and 14 but care will be just for the baby.
START DATE: Part time until 4/27 and then full time hours.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Someone who is incredibly trustworthy, has good judgment, energetic, expressive/outgoing and empathetic.
OUR NANNY WILL BE: Our son would thrive with an energetic, doting caregiver that takes pleasure in his accomplishments and gives him tons of attention–talking and signing to him and coming up with fun things to do together. We are excited to build a long-term relationship with a nanny who is expressive, energetic and excited by little people! We’re aiming for a nanny who is known for their trustworthiness, good judgement, and warmth; someone who cares greatly about child development and shares our love of the outdoors, adventure and fun. It is a plus if the nanny has experience with poor sleepers and/or speaks a second language!
OUR HOUSEHOLD IS: Our house is sometimes quiet and sometimes full of people! Two older kids are with us part time and we have very engaged grandparents locally. We love to have friends and neighbors stop by. We like our home to be a sanctuary, a place for our family to rest, recuperate and connect. It is also under construction- which means lots of walks to the park 🙂
OUR FAMILY IS: Our family is always on the go. Having a baby around has kept us home more than usual but we still have a need to be active and engaged in various initiatives. Both mom and dad are dedicated parents and engaged with child rearing, and both have fulfilling careers. We aim to create an environment that is first and foremost a safe place (emotionally and physically) for our little boy to grow up in. Having him feel love and joy every day is a priority for us. Beyond that, we value nature and adventure, hard work, integrity and community.
FAMILY THEME SONG: Shake it off- Taylor Swift

And he will definitely sing songs about you as he blows past at 2/3rds the speed of light. Baby sister is a lil kicker, but we don’t know much else about her yet!
