WHAT’S IN MY NANNY BAG?

Unlike Mary Poppins, I do not carry lamps in my nanny bag! Everything I carry in my nanny bag is useful for keeping my energy levels up. Here are the items I always have within reach.

Tide Pen

This pen has superpowers! If I get a mark on my clothing, I just blot the pen on the stain and it will be gone in about an hour. Coffee dribbles, be gone!

Phone Charger

As soon as 3:00 pm rolls around my phone is drained. Between our music app, GPS, and photo sharing with parents, my battery life fades. It is important to have a charger on hand so my phone doesn’t flatline.

Water Bottle

This is a must, especially on stroller walks. Make sure to have a leak-proof water bottle to keep hydrated and happy throughout the day.

Kindle

Sometimes the kids will fall asleep at the same time. If I have already taken care of household chores, I love to curl up on the couch with my Kindle. Even thirty minutes of quiet reading can recharge me.

Yoga Clothes

I believe that yoga is important for everyone, especially childcare providers. I spend all day lifting children and being on the ground with the kids. I need yoga to stay flexible and strong. I keep a set of yoga clothes handy in case I can drop into a class after work.

Sunscreen

This sunscreen is my favorite! Whether we have a planned outing to the beach or just a surprise cloud break, this sunscreen has my back…and my nose.

Snack Pack

I always carry healthy snacks for the kids and myself. I bring along protein and veggies to keep my energy up. This bento box has a built-in ice pack, which is nice.

Utensils

What can I say, this bambu spork is perfection. It pairs perfectly with my snack pack.
