TYPES OF NEWBORN CARE
Review the following descriptions to choose the right caregiver for your family:
- Newborn Care Specialist (NCS): A Newborn Care Specialist is a highly trained and certified professional. They offer a wide range of evidence-based support, with an emphasis on sleep health for both baby and parents. Their specialized knowledge in sleep conditioning is a game-changer, gently guiding your little one to sleep longer and more predictable stretches. In addition, with the help of their dedicated overnight care, you gain the invaluable opportunity to rest and recover. Beyond the profound gift of rest, your NCS will share effective soothing techniques and expertly establish consistent routines for overall well-being. They’ll also handle essential newborn tasks like laundry and bottle cleaning, while you prioritize rest and bonding. NCS engagements can range up to 6 months; however, most families find 12-16 weeks of nighttime support to be the right amount for a bright future.
- Postpartum Doula (PPD): A Postpartum Doula is a trained and certified caregiver specializing in holistic parent education and emotional support. They place special emphasis on the recovery and well-being of the entire family. Postpartum Doula engagements can range from 2 weeks to 6 months. On average, families hire a Postpartum Doula for approximately 12-16 weeks of daytime support.
- Newborn Nanny: A newborn nanny is knowledgeable in newborn care and infant development. A nanny’s goal is to support your family during the newborn phase and beyond. (e.g., multiple years) Starling is happy to help your family hire a highly experienced long-term newborn nanny.
NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST PLACEMENT FEES
