Nanny Spotlight: Meet Kiki
We are such fans of My Nanny Planner over here! Not only do they create pre-planned theme-based activities for nannies and parents, but they also honor the most creative and talented nannies around! In fact, we are giddy they did a feature on our Placement Director / Nanny extraordinaire, Kiki!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
My name is Kaitlin, but I was renamed Kiki by the first little girl that I cared for… and the name has stuck ever since. I was born into a family of elementary teachers and I followed this family tradition when I received my teaching certificate from Washington State University in 2009. Although I enjoyed being a teacher ,I soon realized my true calling was caring for infants and toddlers. I have been working as a nanny in the Seattle area since 2011. When I don’t have a toddler in tow, I enjoy traveling, walking my dog, Strala Yoga, concerts, hiking, reading, cooking, dancing with my girlfriends, and spending time with my family and friends. I have added a few other titles to my career in the past month. My passion for Strala Yoga led to me teach a yoga class to toddlers and babies. My passion for the nanny business has led me to be the new Placement Director for Starling Agency.
Meet the Directors of My Nanny Planner:
With 12 years of nanny experience, Sarah knows the importance of keeping young children engaged and entertained while also preparing them for kindergarten or other future schooling. Familiar with the nanny community, she understands the limitations of working in a home setting and the lack of time and monetary means available for individual nannies to do research and planning on their own. Finding a lack of direct and easy childcare information geared specifically toward nannies, she envisioned a flexible program tied to children’s interests that utilized common household products and inexpensive supplies. With a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, Jennifer has spent over a decade working in educational environments and classrooms from kindergarten through middle school. Having a strong background in researched-based best practices, lesson planning, and curriculum development, she understands the importance of introducing developmentally appropriate activities to children to best tap into their academic potential. These developmental skills are embedded into the themes contained in the My Nanny Planner packets. Email Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
